Offline Workshop Management PWA
A workshop ops system to replace spreadsheets: clients, work orders, cash/account movements, and export/import.
The Challenge
A small workshop tracked everything on paper and Excel -- lost jobs, duplicated entries, no searchable history.
Unreliable internet made cloud-only tools a non-starter.
Constraints
- Must work offline with no degradation
- Legacy data (DBF format) had to be imported without data loss
- Non-technical users needed to be productive on day one
Technical Decisions
- SQLite for local-first storage -- reliable, zero-config, and exports as a single file
- PWA instead of native app -- no app store friction, works on any device with a browser
- Express backend for sync when online, but the app is fully functional without it

- Offline-first workflow with SQLite storage and exports

- Export/backup as CSV or SQLite file so the business always owns its data
